Rupert Street Bar Reviews

My friends and I have been going here regularly for years and it has been progressively going downhill. Last night will be the last time we ever go.
The new bartender with tattoos on his neck was very disrespectful, refused to serve us and said we were too drunk (only had 2 drinks). Having challenged this, he then went back on his word and said he would serve us, but unfortunately the damage had been done.
If you enjoy being disrespected then by all means go to this bar! We will be spending our money elsewhere.

My husband and I were visiting London from Toronto and came across this spot while exploring the city. We are SO glad we did!!! Vibes were immaculate and everyone was very friendly. Matthew was our server and he helped make the whole experience incredibly memorable – chatting us up, making great recommendations, and going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Wish we had time to visit again, but next time we’re in London we will definitely be back. Hope Matthew is working then, too 😍
To be honest, I had a nice night because I met up with some people for a drinking night. The bar staff were quite rude and it felt like they were ignoring me. I don’t know why they were ignoring me, but they were serving other clientele before they served me even though I was at the bar first.
I had a few drinks this night, and didn’t think it was appropriate for the bar staff to lack consciousness in this area.
It was an okay night, I met some people, which was my goal, but didn’t think it was right for the staff to act this way. I’ll only come back for the drinking night.
Went here back in September when I was in London for the first time ever. I’m not from a place with a gay district so I knew I wanted to get the vibe of Soho when I visited. I’m a queer Black woman who was traveling solo and I felt right at home! Great music, warm staff. Excellent people watching out of the window around 5pm as the theatre district and the streets started to liven up. I’ll definitely be swinging by again next time I’m in town!
A group of us were there on Saturday night. We were all having a great time as the overall ambience was great. However there was one blonde bartender who ruined the experience for us. Every time one of our friends went to the bar to order, the bartender would deliberately skip them and take the order of people standing behind them. This happened not just once but twice with this particular person. This felt racially motivated as this member of our group was the only person of a visible minority. This is quite surprising as the vibe of the place is so inclusive and all other staff members seem so friendly and welcoming. I would be leaving a much better review if it weren’t for this bizarre encounter, particularly given that our friend is one of the sweetest people you can ever meet so he didn’t deserve to be treated like a second class citizen and have this to happen to him. This was on the night of Saturday, 2nd August in case this helps identify him to the management and as far as I remember the bartender has blonde short-ish fluffy hair and blue eyes perhaps. As long as he still works there, we will not be returning as we do not want to reward establishments that allow racist staff to get away with bad behaviour in 2025.
