The Molly House Reviews
+ Add A Review
I discovered The Molly House one afternoon in Manchester — by pure chance — and what followed was a genuine revelation.
As a former chef myself, well-versed in fine dining, it’s not easy to impress me — especially with simple ingredients. But here, simplicity was elevated to perfection. Every dish carried refinement and heart in equal measure.
The food was spectacular: slow-cooked pork cheeks that melted into pure bliss (among the best I’ve ever had), tender roasted chicken infused with garlic, delicate shrimp pearls bursting with flavor, crisp breaded green olives, and soft white cabbage dressed with pesto and paprika — which unexpectedly became my absolute favorite, even ahead of the pork cheeks.
It was my Ratatouille moment — that rare instant when taste and memory collide, when a meal becomes an experience. In a new city, I didn’t expect to find such warmth and authenticity, both on the plate and among the people.
The gentleman behind the bar took his time to explain every beer with genuine enthusiasm and deep knowledge — a small gesture that made a big impression.
My heartfelt thanks to the chef and the bartender for their care, passion, and dedication — you turned an ordinary afternoon into something truly special.
The Molly House isn’t just a place to eat or drink — it’s where hospitality, craftsmanship, and soul meet.
Thank You!
Sincerely
Constantin
We have often met friends for drinks at the Molly House but hadn’t ever sat down to eat their fantastic tapas menu.
Croquetas (three kinds, the chunky prawn ones with seaweed mayo were our favourite, along with lovely slow-cooked pork cheeks in red wine, steak with chermoula, and some extraordinarily tasty chicken thighs in a garlic and sherry sauce. I could have eaten a bucket of those.
Finished off with a lovely slice of Basque cheesecake, sherry-soaked raisins on the side.
Extremely good food, great service, lovely place to sit and eat. And, with a bottle of Grenache, excellent value.
100% recommend.
Great bar and atmosphere. Service is a bit poor unless the lass who runs it is present but great for big trip beers. Some of the regulars are a bit snobby but in general it’s a good vibe. “All gender” as the best v blues should be. Nice outside balcony upstairs. Not eaten here yet but food always smells delicious.
The waitress was lovely. Nice for a chat and checking to see if was all good. The food was outstanding. Those scallops made my whole night.
Lovely place. I only went for a drink, so I’ll have to come back for the tapas. Some unusual wines on the menu, I will add the Zibibbo to my favourites, thank you for letting me ‘taste before buying’ 🥰
